the quotidian (9.26.16)

Quotidian: daily, usual or customary;
everyday; ordinary; commonplace

Apple pears: a taste-testing splurge.

Hot buttered rolls: we devoured 40 in less than 24 hours.

Tomatoes in cream sauce, chopped and with basil, for over pasta.

Calling a friend to report on her folly.
(She tried to ride a sheep and sprained her arm.)

Papa braids.

The hub.

Rain, finally.

"No matter where you are from, we're glad you're our neighbor."

This same time, years previous: better than cake, home cut, test your movies!, the run around, the quotidian (9.24.12), thousand island slaw with roast chicken, hurdle-free molten brownie cakes, a jiggle on the wild side, and roasted butternut squash salad.

  1. I vote for whoever made the sign.

  2. I love that sign! I'm sorry about the sprain. :(

  3. The things we forget to tell our kids - "Hold on tight when you're riding that sheep."

    Kind of like the time my son and his best friend were on the pond in a rubber raft IN JANUARY. They were too busy to look for the actual oars so grabbed a board. With a nail sticking out of the paddling end. Poor homeschooler. Nobody ever told him about nails and inflated rubber.

  4. I'm with Karen. Whoever wrote or put up that sign gets my vote.

    1. That's in our yard. We got the signs from our church, but I'm not sure who is producing them or if they're available for purchase. It's so neat to drive through town and see them all over the place!

    2. Mr. Rogers would be proud. :)
